On the 25th of April our Company will present its newest creation called Bleeding creek in the Jászai Mari Theater of Tatabánya, Hungary. The production was inspired by the famous hungarian poet János Arany’s ballad, Mistress Agnes on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the writer’s birth, choreographed by artistic director Zoltán Fodor.
The eternal subject, sin and punishment has been adapted in many ways, starting with the original sin in the biblical Garden of Eden. The foundation of the piece, the psychological ballad called „Mistress Agnes” reaches beyond the sin and the punishment imposed by law or a higher force. It comes back to the soul itself, that is eaten up by the weight of the indelible memory. „Bleeding creek” aims to reveal this maddening state of mind, this sad law of nature unavoidably leading to equalization, beautifully portrayed by the poet, János Arany in his ballad.
The piece guides the viewer through the story using the possibilities of dance and movement, but in uncommon ways, expressing with abstract, nonrealistic compositions or minimal symbolism.
