IDAN SHARABI – HABIT

How many identities do we have at the age of social media? Why does female sexuality tend to be suppressed, socially? How does the media affect our social statuses?
We start our lives coming out of one’s body, defined as our mother. Then we are immediately given a name and a gender. Already at that point, we start developing an identity, which is constantly transforming. Our habits are automatic behaviors, circles of doings and undoings, creating systems of actions around us.
The evolution of modern living.
The women dancing my choreographic work are stuck in a system. They are peeling away layers like questions of existence, identities, human behavior and habits.

These women are pushing their limits, obsessively searching for their edges, through working the extreme points of their souls. As an artist, my wish is that such behavior on stage, would give their audience a chance to reconnect to themselves and feel the movement inside their bodies and souls.
We, humans, once knew all the answers. Now it seems these are secrets that shall be discovered through our journeys, while living in systems. And yet, I wonder, can a habit be changed at all?
